If you haven’t already, now is the time to begin gathering 4-5 letters of encouragement from mentors, coaches, or family members.  You can turn these in any time prior to Discovery Weekend here at Trinity (1400 Oxmoor Road 35209) in designated bins in Haven. You may also bring letters at registration on Friday, March 8th, or at the Prayer Service Saturday night, March 9th. Samples of this can be found here —> SAMPLE LETTER

During the 2018-2019 Calendar Year, Trinity is thankful to be undergoing much needed construction throughout our Oxmoor campus. However, this will most likely impact areas of the church typically utilized by Discovery, including spaces and rooms typically used to “house” students during the weekend. As details of the construction become more apparent, we will relay this information to you as well as how this might impact the weekend. No matter what, God is going to move in incredible ways at WONDER 2019!

Registering ONLINE ahead of time is HIGHLY recommended to make Friday check-in quicker and easier! Online registration for the weekend will end Wednesday, March 6th at 12 PM CST.

Registration will then re-open “in person” at Trinity at 5:50 PM on Friday March 8th. If registering upon arrival Friday, you will be required  to complete a Medical Form, so please bring your medical and insurance information. Registration never ends for Discovery. Come one, come all! This is a Jesus thing.

  • Check-in for middle school students begins at 5:50pm on Friday, March 8th in the Fellowship Hall near the large parking lot (THE GYM OR WEST-SIDE OF THE CHURCH). Please note that dinner will be served to middle schoolers and high Friday night. Any student checking-in Friday after 7:30pm will need to go to the Ark Lobby inside the Seminole Road Entrance of the church.
  • High Schoolers, please arrive between 4:45-5:00 pm to the EAST side (Small Parking Lot by Haven) of the church for check in and leader meeting.
  • Any other time a student needs to leave during the weekend, they must go through the check in/check out table located directly inside the Seminole Road Entrance of the church.

We will hold TWO prayer services on Saturday night where parents and other family members will have the chance to pray over your student. We strongly encourage at least one family member to attend.

  • The first Prayer Service will be for all 6th GRADE students and their parents, beginning at 5:30 PM. Parents of 6th GRADERS, please arrive at the Large Sanctuary Narthex at 5:15 PM to check in and receive instructions. Following the service, parents will for a candlelight walk-through as students exit the Sanctuary.
  • The second Prayer Service will be for all 7th & 8th GRADE students and parents, beginning 6:50 PM. Parents of 7th & 8th GRADERS, please arrive at the Large Sanctuary Narthex at 6:15 PM to check in and receive instructions. After checking in, parents will form a candlelight walk-through as students exit and enter the Sanctuary.

Please note that a student will not miss out on any Discovery activities if he/she chooses to get a better night’s sleep at home!
Any student not sleeping at the church should be checked-out at 10:15-10:30pm each night and checked-in by 8:15am the following morning at the Seminole Road Entrance.  Breakfast will be served at 8:30am Saturday morning, and 8:15am Sunday morning.

  • 6th Graders will participate in a canned food drive Saturday afternoon between 1:00 and 3:00pm. It will begin at Homewood Central Park and then students will walk through the Homewood community in small groups with adult and high school leaders. A portion of the students will travel via bus and parent drivers to areas of Homewood that are slightly out of walking distance.
  • 7th & 8th Graders will participate in Rise Against Hunger Saturday afternoon between 1:00 and 3:00pm. They will walk to Homewood Middle School for lunch, pack Rise Against Hunger meals in the cafeteria and then walk back to the church.

Students will be traveling via bus and parent cars to The Hayes family farm, Horses Horses, in Calera, AL. Specific times of travel are listed on the weekend schedule attached to this email.

Parents are invited to the Recap Service at 3:00 pm IN THE GYM on Sunday, March 10th. Parents will take students home directly from this service.
